Urgent help: iLogic failure to talk to Excel 2013

Hi,

Recently, we upgraded from Inventor 2013 and Office 2003 to Inventor 2016 and Office 2016. Due to compatibility issue, we then downgrade Office 2016 to Office 2013. Then now we use Inventor 2016 and Office 2013.

But since then, the iLogic code in one of computer seems do NOT talk to Excel 2013 any more. It is a simple basic iLogic code:

igusset_ht=GoExcel.CellValue("cc_data.xls", "Sheet1", "gusset_ht").  Other computers run well.

And it fail with the message:

Error in rule: gusset_rule, in document: Gusset.ipt

Library not registered. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8002801D (TYPE_E_LIBNOTREGISTERED))

Attached is more detail information.

What is that? can somebody help?

Thanks

Limin

This looks like a bad install of Excel that has caused the issue and not an iLogic problem. I would do a repair installation of office and see if that fixes the issue but if not your choice is to probably do a complete reinstall of office or manualy register excel files like the Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.dll.

I can duplicate the error on a machine that does not have office installed so that is why I think it is an office install issue.

Hi,

I indeed re-installed the Office 2013. But the problem persisted. Maybe I should do it one more time to see what happen.

Just in case, how can we manualy register excel files like the Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.dll?  and to where? (to registry list?)  Should it been installed automatically when installing the Office?

Thank you very much!

After doing a quick google search I think that it could be that the removal of the 2016 office did not do all it should have done. please see this post as perhaps that will set you in the correct direction to solving the problem.
