Tube and Pipe fitting for different sizes

I have a socket weld fitting which can be inserted into different size pipes. At the moment I have it set for a 1 1/2" pipe with an OD of 48.3mm. The pipe centre axis is governed by this dimension, so if I want to use this now in a 2" pipe, the socket will be much lower.

What's the best way to set this up so the 48.3mm is linked to the 1 1/2" or 2" pipe changes for tube and pipe?

In the CC you will find threadolets that have all ready being authored similar to your example. Although they may have a curve suited to the run of the pipe. These fittings are authored as branch fittings and here is some instructions here.

If I was doing this I would place from content center as custom a threadolet. Take a look at the sketch construction and the authoring of the fitting. Pay special attention to the origins points required to set authoring then replicate on a new iPart.
In the past there has been issues getting the branch fitting to recognize the run size with a branch fitting created from scratch. If this happens use a custom placed threadolet as a basis for the new iPart. Hidden attributes in the file will be used to detect run size on placement.

Here is also a blog post on authoring branch fitting which includes a video.
