Trying to implement the new style library

Hello Everyone!

I am a newly appointed CAD manager and I am trying to implement our new Styles Library for our Dimension styles. I keep getting this error (see attatched).

I have done verything I can think of, I have mapped the default library to the new styles library location on the server. I have tried everything.

Please S.O.S. I'm trying to swim on my own here! Thanks

Hi,

Can I know this is caused by a piece of code, or by product directly? If the formmer, could you share a small, reproducible code to help us to know what you are doing exactly?

RT,

Read what the dialog is telling you.  In simpler terms, its saying there is a styles conflict between what is in the file you are opening and your styles library.

I assume you just want to get rid of this message and use the styles that is in your library?  If that is the case, here is how to fix it.

1. Open the CPI Drawings 2012.idw.

2. Check it out if its vaulted.

3. Go to the Manage tab.  On the Styles and Standards panel, click the "Update" button.

4. You will see the conflicting object listed here.  Click the "Yes to All", then "OK".

5. You might want to click the "Purge" command while you are here.

6. Save it. Close it, and test it by starting a new idw and choose this as the template.

7.  If its good, open the template and check it in.

If you have other Inventor questions, try posting in the regular Inventor forum.

Hope this helps.

RT,

This guy had the same problem as you.

If you want to use the style from your styles standard, then you should pick "Update". This will save the style from the library TO the template.

If you want to use the style in your TEMPLATE, you should pick "Save".  This will save the style from the template TO the style library (assuming you have read/srtie access to the library).

Didnt mean to confuse you, just not sure which way you want it.
