Trying to Create a Macro or Rule to Configure Bodies to Work Points from User Input

Hi all,

I have a project here that I am working on, it involves the letters/bodies being configurable to the fixed points based upon user input. My goal for this is to make it as simple possible for a user to user by allowing the user to type in the letters/characters that they would like to use.

Using macros and rules in Inventor is all new to me. I was wondering if anybody would have any input on how to get started with this?

Hi @william_mathesonGLV4F

I would start with a bullet list of the method to do this manually basically any object you used to create the part so far(sketch, sketch point, dimension, emboss etc. This will be fairly involved because of the text and to get the correct spacing. So you will need to determine are you just changing letters and spacing, or are you building the sketch from scratch and adding constraints and dimensions. It would be certainly be faster manually. Have you gone through the API help yet? Are you going to use the ilogic environment or VBA?
