Thread not working!

I recently installed Autodesk Inventor 2016 and ever since then the thread function hasn't been working. What happens is that when I  click on the thread icon two error messages appear saying ''CLSIDFromProgID() failed'' and ''NULL IDispatch passed to Autowrap()'' .

I have read on the internet that many others have the same issue and something about that you need an Excel to make the thread work properly.

Please help me fix this becasue I need it for my homework.

I had the same problem recently. One of the specifications of Inventor is Microsoft Excel. It relies on the formulas to execute the functions of the thread tool and a few more others. I downloaded microsoft office and everything works fine now.

Set system variable UseLibXL to 1

And it will work, except some special functions, that depends on exel (e.g. import virtual parts from excel sheet).
