Template Errors

So my company has had a template for sheet metal and normal parts for years. And within the past year or two we added in some extrenal rules to it. But this issue we've started to have is that the machines won't always pull up the extrinal rules when a new file is made. 

Orignally we had to add the rules to each machine individually, the rules wouldn't just automatically pull up with the template.

Is there a fix for this?

This should probably fix it:
Create new document (for both part and assembly) > open iLogic rules > add the external rules you want to run (if they arent) > set up trigger events > save template as the original template (replace it)
do this for all your templates and add all external rules to all machines you want to run them on

Thank you, this is what I figured I would have to do and have been doing. I just wanted an second persons say so to make sure there wasn't an easier way.
