STYLES AND STANDARDS

Anyone know what the difference is between save and update in styles and standards.  When I set up the template files sometimes I have to save and sometimes I have to save and update to get the error messages to go away.

After making changes to template files to match company standards,  when would you update and when would you save?

styles and standards can be saved in two place:

- part / drawing file

- designdata

1: create a template set all the right settings and save it ("master" template)

2: only with this template press save to save the template settings to the design data.

so now designdata and master template are the same!

3: open all other templates and use Update to get the settings from the designdata to the other tmplates.

4: now all have the same settings.

when you chage settings in a drawing or part and you want to keep that:

1, press save, ONLY then

2 open all templates and only use UPDATE

3. ready

so save is from file to deigndata

update is from designdata to file

pressing save all the time will get you in a circle..... don't do that!
