SketchedSymbol with Leader

Hello,

I've managed to add a sketched symbol with a leader to a dimension. But I've problems adding a sketched symbol with a leader to an exsiting leader note.

The function SketchedSymbols.AddWithLeader always returns an error. I assume that there is a problem with the GeometryIntent.

With dimensions I use 'CreateGeometryIntent(Dimension, tmpIntentPoint)' but replacing Dimension through LeaderNote is not working.

Regards, Stephan

I believe this is a limitation of Inventor and not just the API.  I'm not able to create a leader to an existing leader not interactively either.

Hello,

I'm able to manually create and add a SketchedSymbol with a leader to an existing LeaderNOTE (with T not D).

Regards,

Stephan

Hello Brian,

I checked this again and you are right it is not possible to manually create a sketched symbol with a leader for a simple 'LeaderNote' - sorry 😉 -  but it is possible for a 'ChamferNote' which inherits from 'LeaderNote'.

Can this be done using the API?

Thanks, Stephan

I verified that you can place a sketched symbol on a chamfer note.  However, I haven't had any success doing the same thing through the API.  It should work but isn't.  I've filed a change request for this to be investigated.  If you need to refer to this in future you can mention change request 1342982.
