Sheet Metal Extents not parametric?

I've got code in my Parts List Program that gets the extents of a sheet metal flat pattern, if one exists, and pulls it into the parts list as a length and width. I noticed some values were incorrect. While investigating, I read that the extents are not parametric. Is that true? I use a lot of skeleton models that change a lot of parts. The flat patterns for theses parts change. Are the extents updateable? Am I missing something? Should it work? Thanks, Rosco

Hi there,
I just started using Inventor 8 and would like to get the parts list to show the shear size of the part. You wrote that you have some kind of code that does this? If you do could you please help me? e-mail jagreco@yahoo.com
Thanks

Hi, Seach this discussion group for "get flat pattern dimensions". There's a post dated aug.3 -03 that has code that I used to get started. It works for me but I discovered that the flat patterns need to be aligned to get proper results when using skeleton models to drive the sheet metal parts. I'm still testing but it looks good so far. Good Luck. Rosco
