Separate Alternate Dimensions on Drawing

Hello Forum,

When automating a drawing, there is sometimes the need to add measurements in inches as well as mm. I have a style I can apply just fine with iLogic so a given dimension appears like "mm [in]". What do I do to make the dimension instead appear like "mm LINE BREAK [in]"? This is for a radius, so it is of type iManagedRadiusGeneralDimension

Hi @relicseekerharry.  When you have a uniquely iLogic API IManagedRadiusGeneralDimension object, you can use its NativeEntity property to access the Inventor API RadiusGeneralDimension object.  Then you can access the Style property of that object, which gives us a DimensionStyle object, which has a handful of methods and a TON of properties.  At this point, there are two branches we could take, depending on your true intentions.  One branch just keeps digging into that DimensionStyle, and changes its properties directly.  But that option will be effecting the Style that potentially several other dimensions are also already using, and potentially several other new dimensions will be using.  The other branch is to create a NEW DimensionStyle first, possibly by copying the existing DimensionStyle, then making the wanted changes to that new style, then setting that new style as the value of this property.  That second branch may take a little more code or preparation, but is the cleaner option.

The following property may be one that you are interested in here:

DimensionStyle.DimensionDualFormat property, where its value is a variation of the DimensionStyleFormatEnum
