Reversion of properties?

I have a recurring problem involving the use of master documents, which have been copied to create new versions.

The problem occurs in the drawing environment, when custom ilogic properties randomly revert back to the orgional values, I can work on a model for several days without this happening. It is totally unpredictable and I cannot explain why this occurs.

Does this make sense?

It seems to be related to model states.

As the principle state used to cause all sorts of problems with my ilogic code, for the last 5 years I have used a model state called ILOGIC,

The reversion seems to be the model calling up the principle state?

Just to clarify, when you say 'model states' or 'model state', are you talking about the new objects that became available in the Inventor 2022 release (ModelStates), or something else?  I'm asking because you mentioned that you had been working with one for 5 years, which doesn't make sense to me, since these objects just became available this year.

So, you aren't using a Template in these cases to generate new files, but are instead actually copying existing files, then changing them right?  When you are copying files, are we talking about all types of files (parts, assemblies, & drawings), or just drawings?  If the drawing is being copied, and the original file was showing different models in its views, then I'm assuming you are using the 'Replace Model Reference' tool on the Manage tab > Modify panel of the drawing's ribbon, to replace the model's in its views, right?

Hi this is what I am refering to.

Yes I copy existing  parts, an assembly and a drawing file and import new parameters into the master assembly file.

I don't do this

OK, so that "ILOGIC" model state used to be a level of detail representation in previous releases of Inventor, then it got automatically converted to a model state by Inventor 2022, right?  I guess the next question would be, how you are copying the files?  There are a couple tools that come with Inventor, there are likely add-ins for this process, there's an app in the Autodesk App Store, and there have been several posts here on the forums about complex iLogic routines attempting to copy sets of Inventor documents.  It seems like if property values within the drawing's border are reverting back to a values in the original model, there may somehow be a link remaining to that original model that didn't get broken in the copy process.  ...Or I may just be looking at this all wrong...It's definitely possible. 😉

Hi

It seems that until changed or updated each model state keeps the original values of the master assembly (copy).

If I try and update both model states the 2nd update can lock me out for 30-45 minutes urgh!

If both states are not updated the values can "leak" across the models this includes the CofG which  as I cannot get it to update I have had to delete from most of my drawings.

I really do not need the different model states, I would like to delete the principle and be left with ILOGIC, but at the moment this is not possible.
