If you are talking about recording a macro as you would in Excel or perhaps Solidworks, then no.

Inventor does not have that feature and I am not aware of any third party tool that would be capable of that sort of thing.

You're going to have to learn to program or hire a programmer.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

I'm a developer and also Instructor. while teaching in a class many of the student asking question about record macro?

so I'm wondering record feature is available in Inventor 2014 or not and third party tool available or not?

That's a reason I raise a question in forum.

Thanks again!

Thanks Gruff,

Will AutoDesk add this feature in later version?  I search in forum users from 2007~8 onwards requesting this feature.

I hope someone will answer for any available third party tool.

Thanks again!

I would think that the ability to record macro is a feature offered by microsoft when you purchase VBA to embed in your major application.

Since it has to work intimately with the inventor API an immense amount of work would have to be invested by autodesk.

Personally I do not see how anyone could do that as a third party.

Unfortunately there is no macro recorder inside Inventor, with no future plan to include one and as Gruff mentioned that's too involved for any third party to attempt doing so.

The closest thing you can find is the transcript feature.

I hope it helps,

Philippe.

Hi Philippe,

Thanks for you information.

Let me try to use  "Transcript feature in Inventor 2014".

If I have any questions while developing, I will back.

I got a link about a third party tool.

BOB replied to someone regarding third party tool. [ Click Here ]

//using a 3rd party macro recording system like AutoIT (which is free by the way).

http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/

I hope someone may use this tool AutoIT, please let me know about this usage.

Thanks again,
