Need idear for how to best get information about engraving on DXF/PDF.

I wish be able to send out Drawing for Laser Cutting  with a easy way for subcontractor to want need to be cut and want only need to Engraving. That to help assably or welding later to save time. not have to measure so  must.

today we only got 1 layer (ÍV_outer_profil and IV_interior profil merger in to one layer).

Want i think would be nice is somewho get an second Layer there Engraving text or line is ... withone getting any other profil form the drawing like countersinking of holes or other non-continuous machining operations on the DXF file.. anyone doing this an how ?

I'm not sure I fully understand what you want.

It sounds like you want to send a DXF and a PDF file to your subcontractor to do some engraving work for you.

And it sounds like your drawings have all geometry on just 2 layers (1 with engraving paths, 1 with other geometry).

Then those two layers are somehow becoming merged together into 1 layer (and perhaps you don't want this to happen?).

Then when you export the drawing to DXF, it contains a bunch of geometry that you don't want to be exported to the DXF file, right?

Is the export to DXF process combining the 2 layers, or are you combining the 2 layers on purpose, or are they being combined for some other reason?

I assume you only want the geometry that is to be engraved to be exported to the DXF file, right?

Can you send a simple example file to test with that is not proprietary or confidential?

I assume you are using the 'Emboss' feature (which contains an option to engrave instead of emboss - found within the 'Create' panel, of the 3D Model tab, of the Part environment) when you are creating the engraving details?

If so, you could create a new sketch, then use the 'Project Geometry' method to transfer all of the geometry from all the sketches used for creating the other engrave features, to the new sketch.  Then you can export that sketch to a DXF.  Does this process sound like it would work for you?
