item qty in parts lists - use view rep and not entire assembly to get item qty or occurrences

I know that newer versions have this option available to filter visible qty's. I am currently running 2016, does anyone have a rule to update item qty in parts lists, or a work around to get view rep occurrences in part list.

Hi @Shag_Bore 

Unfortunately a lot of the Parts list options are not exposed to the API so to get your effect would be a long workaround. You would need to look into the active view rep of the view, get all the parts and qty's for this view rep then loop through the the partslist row referenced document  matching to the view rep list then and if found overwrite the partlist qty with that from the list. You will end up with every qty overridden and really a mess for anyone coming behind wanting to know where the values came from.
