Item Bubbles

Is there anyway I can reuse the "Main Assembly" as reference when using Item Bubbles, While detailing Sub-Assembly?

In my Main Assembly the Sub-Assembly has the correct Item no. (Example 5.1)

and when detailing the same Sub Assembly on a new sheet the Item Numbers should correlate (Example 5.1.1) and not starting from 1 again.

Any advice will be appreciated deeply.

Thank you, I've used this method before and worked perfect.

only problem now is my drawing views of the sub-assemblies has already been drawn.

Just have to re-do some work then.

Thanx again!

my trick it usefull to avoid redetailing, but still need modification in some style (PartList and Balloon)

1. Open your Main Assy, Open BOM. In BOM add Custom iProperties Columns, then add new property call that name "DummyItemNo"

DummyItemNo.JPG

2. In BOM Structured View All Level, expand all node. Copy all Item (selected like dragging in excel), then paste to DummItemNo Column

CopyItemNoToDummyItem.JPG

3. Save all at Main assy.

4. open you drawing, now you must edit the PartList Style and Balloon style.

a. For partlist, open Style Editor in Manage Menu, search you partlist style, make copy for default partlist

b. Replace existing Property "Item" with new Property "DummyItemNo

Remove Item.JPG

c. Do the same step for Balloon Stlye.

After all set, change existing partlist style with new partlist style (Select partlist first) in Menu Annotate>Format

do same step to balloon in existing detail drawing.
