Is it possible to use assigned features to constrain a subassembly?

I am creating a configurator which builds assemblies from the ground up.   So far so good.  I just wanted to check if anyone had found a way to constrain a subassembly rather than a part using the new constraints.add...  commands in ilogic.  It would make my life a lot easier.  The 'named geometry tab' is not accessible in an assembly file so my guess is it is not possible- unless someone knows a workaround.

It looks like Mike Deck had the answer at https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/inventor-2019-ilogic-constraints/td-p/7907189.

I have not tried the solution yet but it looks like it should work.
