Hello, I'm not sure if this forum or the general Inventor forum is the best place for this question, but I am looking for a way to control/update the Cost property for Nesting Material Packaging using iLogic and a linked spreadsheet.
I can create a nesting template with all of the potential materials and packaging pre-configured, including the cost. But, as material costs fluctuate, I will also need a way for the costs to be checked against a master spreadsheet and updated if they have changed since the last time the nest was calculated for a particular assembly.
I could keep the main template updated manually as material costs change, but once the first nesting has been run on an assembly and saved, then its costs would not be updated when the template is updated. We have roughly a dozen+ users that will need to run nesting analyses, and I don't want to rely on them always properly updating the costs every time they need to re-run an assembly for different quantities on an order or future re-orders. If it is linked to a spreadsheet, as can be easily done for parameters in models, then the user could click a button on a form and it would update correctly every time (or we could possibly put in an automatic trigger event to update the costs when the file is opened).
I have, thus far, not found a way to edit the Cost field for a given packaging using iLogic code. Have I just not found a correct way/the right code to modify that field, or is this simply not a field that I have access to in iLogic?
