I have just read an article by Carl Smith http://blogs.rand.com/manufacturing/2011/12/if-this-then-ilogic.html about creating an internal data source. I am also watching Thomas Fitzgerald's Design Automation series where he talks about using external data sources.
Is one better than the other? I like the idea of not managing external sources but it seems to me that the tables would be easier to create and maintain with Excel or SQL.
Are there other advantages/disadvantages?
