Hi,
I don't know if it is an issue of 3ds-Max or Inventor but it is definitly a Problem of Autdesk 😉
First miy workcase: I often import existing CAD-Data into Inventor and change some things we need.
For Visualisation we use 3dsMax. The Modells we get are very complex and redundant. So I rebuild some Parts in Inventor and make an array out of it. (For example Screws on a mechanical part). Now My Inventor-File is cleanedup and I import it to 3dsMax.
The Problem: -->Too many Polygons! In 3dsMax all my optimizations are gone away, because the Import made of all arrays individual parts 😞
Is there a way of importing arrays from Inventor to 3dsMax keeping an "instance" as an "instance"?
Actually I have round about 100 *.ipt in my project directory. But with the explained Drag&Drop Import I get 3000 individual elements in 3ds Max.
I thing it takes about 2,5 days to do all the optimizations in Max again as done in Inventor before. (and when I change some critical things in Inventor I have to do it again 😞
Thanks for reading!
Greating
PS: choked Parts in an array (in Inventor) do only dissapear alone if they are part of the 2++ Element. (-->Try to create a box in an 3-Dimensional array and chok some elements in the array singualy.
