Ilogic/VBA macros disappear/vanish from ribbon after restart

We use Inventor Professional 2020, when I got a new PC I noticed that the Ilogic macros keep disappearing/vanishing from my ribbon when I close/restart Inventor. I added a few regular commands to the ribbon (For instance, update styles) which does not vanish after a restart. My colleagues seem to not have this problem.

Macro button vanishes from ribbon after restart Inventor 2020 | Inventor 2020 | Autodesk Knowledge N...

I tried this workaround but with no luck, I could not find the "NullDocument ribbon" but I tried with the Zero document.

Check if your settings are being changed for the path under Application Options > File > Default VBA Project.

I would suggest trying to use the Inventor reset utility. There is possibly a corrupted user configuration file somewhere.

I do know that Inventor tends to "forget" the items you added to ribbons if it is not closed down properly (ie. crash or force close).

This issue seems related. If the Inventor reset utility doesn't help, try some of the troubleshooting steps suggested here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/application-options-not-saving/td-p/10638749

Thanks a lot! So far the ribbon stays when restarting.

Fingers crossed it stays that way haha.

Unfortunately I cheered too early. after restarting inventor some of my buttons are gone again. i normally have 5 Ilogic buttons in my ribbon. now the Ilogic buttons disappear but the inventor buttons remain.

In the customize menu I can see that something strange is happening. the separators remain and the button "MP_Approved" is in the list but not in the ribbon. (marked in green)

I also saw that after the inventor reset utility many Ilogic macros are no longer in the list (marked in blue)

Also... the external rules tree is empty since the reset. However, the "Rules" and "Global Forms" are not empty.

I checked the file locations in "File" in the "Application Options" those are all correct.

okay.. slowly getting there.. Our ilogic guru quit a while ago. luckily this forum exists.

I accidentally fixed the external rule issue by adding the external rule directory.

The buttons still disappear though...

References to external iLogic rules are hidden away in another menu.

On the ribbon go to Tools. Expand the "Options" section of the ribbon, and select "iLogic Configuration". This will allow you to add the link to your folder where the external rules are saved. You'll need to use the "+" button to add the folder to the list.
