iLogic copy properties derived part

Hello,

I try to make a devired part that has the same properties + custom properties (not all properties) of the assembly were it is derived from. I have found multiple posts where they make a derived part with an iLogic rule or where they extract some properties but those do not work.

Can anyone help?

Many thanks and best regards.

Hi Viktor,

I think there is a bit misinformation or misunderstanding here. Derive Part or Derive Assembly in general does not carry over iProperties from the source components. It is because the properties cannot be derived. There are a few exception to the rule. 1) Threaded Hole and Thread features do propagate from the source part to the derived part. In drawing, the hole/thread notes can be created on a derived part.

2) Exported parameters are also listed as custom iProperties in a part or assembly. If you derive a parameter from a part, you can also mark it as "Exported" and it will be listed in the derived part custom iProperties.

Many thanks!
