This is a repost to this group from the regular one.

Original question from 'EmmeA' was:

Hi,

I created a derived part and I broken the link with its parent. Is there a way to relink the two parts?

Autodesk Inventor 2011

Thanks in advance.

M.

I was looking for a solution to this issue myself and thought this might be the next step in finding it.

Recently one of our users just asked me this, and I found the solution was not posted here yet. To anyone who may benefit from this, you can always re-derive the component in your part:

--> Inventor derived component "B" has broken link to component "A", and needs re-attaching to update with changes to component "A": open component "B" and select to "Derive" again, then after finishing this operation delete the previous broken derive item from the part.
