How to get to the Layer object for Inventor Factroy design

In Inventor Factory design you can place an asset on a layer in 3D (IAM).

is there a way with iLogic or VB to get this layer object?

I want to make a list of the different assets with the layer they are on.

I can't find how to get to the layer in VB, and is it even possible? does the API support this?
