help with a color change macro

hi everybody!

i am totally new to macros and have no idea where to start.

i would need a macro that if executed it changes the color of the selected part to "blue transparent".

any help appreciated.

ouch.. talked to early.. works only for single parts inside an assembly but not for a whole assembly.. 😞 seems like this is not supported for assemblies. also it doesnt set it to default, but to the material's color. so if i cahnge material it doesnt update the color.

Brian, I can get the code to work to change face color but I am having issues with the selection function. I have code posted in a different thread that explains my issue and contains the code I am using. Basically, the code runs without a hitch if I run from the VBA interface, but if I use a macro button on an Inventor toolbar it hangs/crashes. I haven't been able to resolve this issue and it is repeatable on all of my machines here. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. This tool would be a tremendous time saver for us vs. teh manual process of right-click>Properties>Choose color from list>repeat.
