G_L set to diameter in costum Frame design

Hello everyone,

I am working on a standerisation and would like to use custom parts. Creating Iparts and publish them is no problem at all, get the length in the correct position in the part list, also not a problem. But when i use the miter comment, the G_L should be extended, but instead of that, the G_L is set to nominal diameter. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? It would realy make my day.

Welcome to the forum,

You should have posted this on the Inventor general. Customization is more for programming really.

I presume that you have used the Manage tab, Author Structural Shape command before publishing to Content Center.

It’s all a bit confusing because

G_L - is generated length like after Frame Generator End Treatments

B_L - is the Base Length which should be the original length before any end Treatments

ND - is Nominal Diameter mostly used in Content Center and you say it’s been reported in G_L

We can only help if you attach your part here and let us look at it. Even the generate model that doesn’t report correct G_L

Thanks for the reply, I did publish it by manage tabe, structural shape. And i don't get why the G_L is set to height when I add end treatments to the frame.

I addad a part that automaticly set G_L to the height of the test part.

If I was you I would copy an existing family to my library then open a part in the family, remove the existing geometry and add my own. Then use replace family template on the CC family.

Attach this library to your project and copy my family to yours and see how that goes. Of course you can (and should) change the family properties, like name, standard, and any other table settings as you see fit.

Test it with frame generator and see if this is what you’re after.
