Extrusion Profile Selection/Color Adjustment

I have noticed that it is difficult sometimes to visualize the profile I am selecting for an extrusion because of the similar shading with the rest of the part.  Is there a way to adjust the color of the profile selection.  I went into "Options" and looked under the colors & display tabs, but was unsuccessful.

Hello Dale,

there are a view color scheme's

for the extrusion command, the highlight color is red, accept for the scheme "winter night" that is grey.

there is only a hard way to change these predefined colors, and that is through "hacking" the windows registry.

before doing that, create a copy first.

look for:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion21.0\System\Preferences\ColorSchemes\Schemes

and than it is try and error,

the numbers stand for the different color scheme's.

look for : PrimarySelectColor  or HighlightColor  ... 

(there is an old tool somewhere in the SDK folder, DONT use that, because it will kill you settings!)

File-Options-Colors-Customize Schemes-Selection-Highlight (double click and select color) - apply-close.

I actually did find out how to change the selection color in Inventor.  You need to go to Tools>Application Options>Customize Schemes>Expand the Selection option under Graphical Elements>Highlight.  If you click on the color swatch for the Highlight option you can change the color to whatever you like.  See image.
