Excel parameter link breaks after update when project saved on server.

Hi all,

So I want to work off of a server and I was transferring my project templates to it.

This template consists off a excel file with a few parameters and a couple of parts/assemblies which use those linked parameters to change the part names and other properties and drawings which update depending on those properties.

So essentially everything links back to the excel file and when that file is updated I go into inventor, save the top level assembly which pushes an update to all the other parts.

This template works absolutely fine when everything was saved locally but now when it is on the server the link breaks as soon as the excel file is updated. The parameters turn yellow although the path to the file hasn't changed.

Is there any fix or work around? I could move those from a excel file into the top level assembly and just update them there but I have other Text parameters in that excel file that are linked through ilogic as you cannot link text parameters straight from an excel file which also need updating so it would be nice to have it all there.

When you moved your Inventor files to the server, did you also move the Excel file to the server with them, or did you leave the Excel file locally on your computer?  It sounds like you may just have to update or fix the link to the Excel file after the files have been moved.  When you moved the files, did you also update or create a new Inventor Project file in the new location, so that it knows about the different workspace and folder options?

Yes the excel file has definitely been moved along with the project and the workspace destination is also 100% set correctly.

I just tried remaking the project file and it has also led me to a broken link as soon as the excel file is saved.
