Customizing Constraint sketchs to different colors then what comes with inventor

At work, we have Inventor 2016.  The graphics don't give us many options to change the colors around.  We might be able to get the background to where we like it but then it changes the sketch plane drawing lines.

Right now I have Presentation set in design for colors under application options. The themes are already pre-set.

I have attached what my color scheme is set too. and I have attached a picture of a sketch that shows black and blue line.  And I think that the blue is unconstrained but it is so hard to tell.  This is very annoying.

So On that note, I was wondering if it is possible to go in and change the unconstrained lines to red.  So it really stands out to what needs to be dimensioned.  I heard there is a possible add-on that I would need to do this.

Any ideas on how you can help with this one.

Hi bralick1221,

I use the same theme and the blue is the constrained portion of the sketch.

I have other designers that have asked me the same question concerning the line colors. The best solution we have come up with so far is to use the sky theme since the unconstrained portion is a maroon color. You can set the background as an image, I took a snippet of the presentation background and saved it as an .png image file, set the color scheme to "Sky" and the background to "Background Image" then inserted the image file.

You could use any image file you want, I have seen everything from football stadiums to clouds but I like the bluish gray of the presentation setting.

Hope this helps.

But then the problem effect the welding colors. Right now with the theme I
have my weld is green and bright blue and can really tell the difference.
IF I change that to the other theme it gives me blue and dark blue.

I was told that there could be a possible add-in that I could get to change
my color schemes the way that I would like to customize it. Was wondering
if there is something out there that I could get.

Thanks Amanda

Hi bralick1221,

You might try the color scheme editor as described at these links:

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,

Our IT department has us locked out of installing add-ins so I cannot do this which is why we use the preset scheme that works best for us but if you have admin access you should be able to.

There should be a color scheme editor already on your PC. To access it Install the User tools found in: "C:UsersPublicDocumentsAutodeskInventor2016SDKUserTools"

After installation you should be able to open the Color Scheme Editor found in: "C:UsersPublicDocumentsAutodeskInventor2016SDKUserToolsColorSchemeEditorBinInventorColorScheemEditor".
