Hi,
I see that people have been complaining about the revision cloud add-in provided by Autodesk for Inventor for several years, and I totally agree that it is not good enough. Personally I am missing the opportunity to create rectangular revision clouds.
Therefore I am thinking that it should be possible to create a VBA that lets you do this.
- Create a sketch on the active sheet called "Revision Clouds"
- Open the sketch and let you draw as many rectangles as needed.
- When you close the sketch it converts the rectangles to revision clouds. (Splines?)
- If you run the macro again and the sketch already exist you can delete\create new rectangles (it must convert the clouds back to rectangles so that you are able to easily change the size)
- Close the sketch and the rectangles are converted back to revision clouds.
I also think it should be possible to change the line thickness and the "size of the arcs" easily.
As I am very new to programming this is going to be a long term project for my part. But before I start, I need to know if it is possible, and hopefully get some hints about where to begin..
I am actually very surprised that no one has created their own custom add-in for this and tried to sell it through the new Autodesk "app store".
