Create multiple different drawings that do not change when the model does.

Hello,

I have created a conveyor using iLogic to change the length.

Now i want to place each of the 4 different lengths on drawings. But when i place the drawings i want to be able to select the different lengths. So i have 4 different drawings that are dimension from the one iLogic model. And these drawings don't update when the model changes.

As if i place the iLogic model in a drawing, i dimension it, then change the model length it changes on the drawing also. I don't want it to change on the drawing.

What is the best way to achieve this?

Save As and break the link?

Level of Detail?

Any help much appreciated.

I have solved this problem by changing the length in iLogic, creating a new assembly, then placing the model as an iLogic part. This new assembly does not change length when the original model does.

This means i can now create the individual drawings that don't change when the original model does.

Would using 'Defer updates' on the drawing document work for you?

I don't think so. Because if i dimension a small one, then change the size to a bigger one, then their will be no holes on the drawing as on the smaller they are suppressed, and the bigger unsuppressed.
