A good starting point would be to read the documentation in the Inventor application, accessible on the help button :

There is pretty much anything you need there, with explanations to samples programs to illustrate topics.. As an exemple you can type "API" :

This explais basics things you need to know.. Then from there you can get on searching specific this..

This forum is also a good source of information.
