API to access Section participation status of components

I have found this question asked several years ago, but no answer.

I need to access the Section Participation status for each component included in a section view. I know I can access the Control to Execute() the option, but what I want is to know it's current setting, not to change it.

If this is not currently available, how do I add this as a request to be added to the API?
