Adding parts items to BOM based on parameters in other parts?

Hello to all:

I have a question about Inventor BOM's.  My company designs conveyor layouts in Inventor using Factory Design Utilities, then generates excel BOM's.  I m trying to find a way to add parts to the BOM's without actually putting them in the layouts.  Is it possible (maybe through iLogic?) to have a part be added to the BOM if a parameter is manipulated on another part?  It would save us a lot of time and manual manipulation.  Thanks in advance for any informed replies!

Anyone have any other info to add?  That post was for INV 2016, anything new and fancy in 2019 along this same path?
