Simulation of concrete pipe crack test

Hello

I would like to simulate a crack test of a concrete pipe with Nastran In-CAD. My main problem is how to apply the correct supports and loads for the pipe. I've been trying but i can't place the loads where i want them. For example i can't place a lineload at all.

I'm thankful for any help

Kind regards

Hi @Anonymous  Welcome to the In-CAD forum.

You did not explain why you cannot apply a load where you want it, or why you cannot apply a force to an edge.

My guess is that you cannot apply a load to the area where you want it is because you need to split the model to create the region (or face or area) where you want to apply the load. You can split the face in the Inventor modeling environment and then apply the load to the smaller face. See Inventor's help for To Combine, Split, or Trim Bodies and Faces.

You need to do something similar for the line load: you need the line to select! (Inventor uses the terminology "edge" instead of line.) Use the split command to split the face to create an edge where you want to apply the line load. Then in In-CAD, select the edge and apply a Force. (A distributed load is only for beam elements, so you do not want to use the distributed load.)
