Section view of result

Hello all,

I would like to get the information from a sliced surface (ex: stress distribution) of a solid.

It appears that with inventor all section view create 'shell' appearence. Is it just impossible or not?

I think what you are looking for is Results Panel > Options > Section View

Thanks a lot for instruction. In fact, I will need also obtain local values despite the picture. Seems that probes cannont be put in a section are they? If so, is there other solutions?

Hello @Anonymous ,

I am assuming you want the results through the thickness of the model.

If the model is symmetrical and you are looking at the results in the symmetry plane, you could use symmetry to try to get the results through the thickness of the model. 

Or you could split the model in inventor, use bonded or offset bonded to keep the volumes together for the analysis but use the probe to get the results on the split surface.

Unfortunately, my projet needs more than just the result from a symmetrical section and have a profile much more complicated. The picture posted by former replyer is not my subject.

Seems that il just cannot be sovled by this programme but thanks anyway.

Inventor Nastran needs to implement probing a section and viewing a section mesh. Comparing colors to get values is not sufficient for engineering reports. Probing a section is implemented Fusion 360 and in every other FEA I have ever used.
