Are there any examples on how to implement the new topology optimization features using FEMAP as pre/post?

Hi Edwin,

Topology Optimization is actually not consumed by Nastran In-CAD, it is currently use in Inventor for it's ShapeGenerator feature. I can send you a small PDF that briefly covers how you can use these features with FEMAP. The tutorials are not quite polished, so I won't post this publicly.

I am really interest too for tutorial pdf.

Here is one figure for my test case where try to optimize one simple geometry.

As you see you can make needed action in editor and then solve the problem.

There is lot of parameters and manual not explain clearly these.

Hello All,

apologies for this but as mentioned above, topology optimization is not currently supported in Nastran In-CAD (NIC). The support with FEMAP is also out of the scope of NIC support and we are not currently in the position to share the document. There is an IdeaStation requesting for the topology optimization in NIC here. Please vote for the idea if you are interested in having this functionality in NIC.

Sorry to hear that.

This a bit frustrating because most of the things seems to work. The DRESP1 card is operational for RTYPE=GLBSTRS, COMP, COMPINDX, FRMASS, DISP but not for EIGN or FREQ.

I tried by putting the parameter TOPTGEN to VFFREQ and have no more error message but nothing happens in the solver.

From the presentation here I was expecting the topology optimization to be a feature in Autodesk Nastran standalone version.
