Meshing Generation Bug

I've recently updated to Nastran-In-CAD 2020 and have noticed a massive increase in meshing generation failures.  It is happening on parts that have had no issues in the past.

The odd thing about the failures is that they can be cleared either by closing Inventor and restarting, or by going into the Manage tab and using the rebuild all feature two or three times.  The mesh will then complete successfully without any updates to the model or changes.

Hi @andrew4WQQV

I couldn't find this issue with few of the models we have.

Do you have the model in 2019 as well to compare.

Please feel free to share the model for us to check it.

I am unable to share the model as we have a fair bit of IP within it but the issue seems intermittent. Often it will occur when a minor change is made such as to a fillet or changing overall dimensions by a few mm. It will work prior to change, fail after then after rebuilding a few times it will then mesh successfully.

Hi @andrew4WQQV

The Simulation bounding box which is initially created would be effected due to any further geometrical changes.

For which it is needed to use "Manage > Update > Rebuild All".

As you say you are already using the above, which is perfectly fine and not any issue in it.

If it is an assembly, instead of rebuilding couple of times, also use "Manage > Update > Update > Global Update".

We were to do the same as above in 2019 as well and I don't think so it would create any issue of this in 2020.

For more details go through- Applying updates to files.
