This information is for users of Inventor Nastran 2022.

An issue related to the new Model States feature may cause all the Inventor Nastran input to be deleted from the model. These are the known steps that result in the loss of Nastran input:

  1. One or more Nastran analyses have been setup previously in the model.
  2. The model is opened in Inventor 2022. (The model could be from an older version of Inventor that will be migrated, or it could be a model created in Inventor 2022.)
  3. A different Model State is activated in the modeling environment.
  4. The model is saved before entering the Nastran environment. This is the step that causes the Nastran input to be lost.

There may be other steps related to the Model State that causes the problem that we have not encountered yet. Let us know if you encounter any such problems, and I will update this post as new information becomes available.

What I do know is that the Nastran input is always saved if you do not use a different Model State. If you enter the Nastran environment (and optionally exit) before you save the model, the Nastran input is saved. (I do not know what happens when you then activate a different Model State before you close the model.)
