Hi,
I am working on a project and need to analyse a steel structure model to see it can withstand a nominal proof load. no matter what technique I use, I still get the same error which is "INSUFFICIENT NUMBER OF GRID POINTS SPECIFIED ON ENTRY".
1)I tried to upload the original model directly into In-CAD so as usual In-CAD would recognise the beam elements and analyse it.
2)then tried to use "Structural members" function to change the beam elements to solid hoping I can resolve the issue, impossible. I get the "INSUFFICIENT NUMBER OF GRID POINTS SPECIFIED ON ENTRY" ERROR.
3)I even converted the model to STEP file, then uploaded into In-CAD, the issue is still there and I get "INSUFFICIENT NUMBER OF GRID POINTS SPECIFIED ON ENTRY" ERROR.
Any Ideas?
thanks,

Hello @Max.H.Pour,
could you try either of the following.
"Exclude from analysis" parts except for a few starting with the base and run a simple analysis. Add a part and rerun the analysis. Don't forget to mesh before doing so. Repeat the process until the contact with the issue is found. Redefine the contact definition in question.
Alternatively, go to the Nastran output and

Dear Sir,
And what should I do next after redefining type of surface contact ? How to get to the result from that point ? Because when I press Save or Update Nastran File or Run Analysis again it starts counting one more time with the same problem. I'm looking forward for response from you.
Hi @Anonymous . Welcome to Inventor Nastran.
You should do the following:
I saw this message because of this gaps in the picture below. I didn't get this error message when I analyzed after filling this gap
