How to customize a scratch folder for Nastran?

Hi all,

How can be customized, a default SCRATCH folder on Nastran In CAD and Autodesk Nastran?

I want to solve and get the result files on a specific local folder. For example, C:\Users\iortiz\Documents\000_Scratch_CAE

Hi Igor,

The scratch folder is defined by the FILESPEC parameter, by default this is C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Nastran In-CAD 2016\Nastran\Temp but you can change it to whatever you desire. If you want to change it for all future analysis it may be good to go into C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Nastran In-CAD 2016\System\Nastran and change the Nastran.INI file directly.

Could you give me an example of the rute change on this NASTRAN.INI file?

Hi Igor,

On line 85 you should see FILESPEC=C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Nastran In-CAD 2016\Nastran\Temp, you can replace that with FILESPEC=C:\Users\iortiz\Documents\000_Scratch_CAE.
