Hi,
I'm doing a linear static simulation with a convergence plot with Nastran Inventor 2021. The issue is that the plot displays a flat line and it doesn't refine the mesh.
That part attached is a simple bracket with a fixed constraint and a force acting on the other end. Continues meshing is switched off and converge is include in the simulation, can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
I've had this problem also on other parts that I tried to simulate.
Thanks in advance,
Mathias

Hi Mathias,
Thanks for the model. I have seen other examples where the local mesh convergence does not work. I will report your model to the developers.
On the other hand, even if the mesh convergence would work, it would not work for your model. 😁 With the sharp corners that cause the high stress, there is no mathematical limit. Essentially, the 0 radius "fillets" create an infinite stress concentration. As the mesh is made finer, the stress keeps increasing with no end.
