Flat convergence plot - again

Hi,

I'm doing a linear static simulation with a convergence plot with Nastran Inventor 2025. The issue is that the plot displays a flat line and it doesn't refine the mesh.

Continues meshing is switched off and converge is include in the simulation, can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I've had this problem on all simple parts that I tried to simulate, for learning purposes only.

Best regards

Same here in V2525. V2024 however works fine with exact the same parts.

Thanks for the observation @hvdgoot . One possibility is the initial mesh is different in 2024 than in 2025, and the initial mesh could be a reason no refinement is found.

Does the convergence plot work when starting with a larger mesh size? What about starting with a smaller mesh size?

John

Hi John,

Thank you for replying.

Using Inventor 2025 incl Nastran 2025 (19006) and changing the mesh size to very large or very small does not give different results. The plotted line remains horizontal.

I was just tinkering with a simple content center beam (DIN 1025 - I 280-2750) to compare the results between Inventor 2024 with Nastran 2024.

I find it really strange why the 2024 version works great out of the box.

Thanks for the information @hvdgoot about the difference between Inventor Nastran 2024 and 2025. I just received two examples through a support case that demonstrates the difference. I have sent the models to the development team.
