FEA data folders

Where does the variable live that specifies the location of the \InCad\Fea data subfolder ? Registry ? Path/Environment variable ? The NAS, FNO files Et Al are killing our server space. Moving forward, We'd like to create them in a common, unpopulated drive. Thanks JMates

Welcome to the Naastran In-CAD forum! Currently there is no environment variable or registry entry that dictates where these files get written, it is a hard coded path. If you are making a lot of modifications to the same model and and re-running it you could end up with a lot of files there. Each time you change the model, it creates a new unique file name for the NAS file and in turn the associated FNO and log files. This is because previously, many users were trying to load results that did not match up with the most recent geometry. Because the FNO is tied to the geometry and mesh this meant the results were meaningless. I do suppose we could try to do some better garbage collection deleting older files once a model has been modified, but it could also be risky.

Hello Andrew:  Right now the In-Cad FEA analysis subfolders exist on the same drive/directory as our part models.This is cluttering up our server.Is there a registry setting or system variable that can be set to redirect the analysis files to a common drive? JMates

Please see me reply in response to your initial comment. This is not possible to move where this file store with a registry setting.
