Crashing when trying to create finer mesh

Hello,

The attached part crashes when I try to mesh it with a smaller element size. When I set the element size to 8mm it meshes fine, 7mm or below it crashes every time. I'm using version 2018.2.1.428. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi @T3H

I used the suggestions in this article to diagnose the problem: Nastran In-CAD: Mesh fails at small element size. By splitting the faces of the model, the mesh will succeed at smaller mesh sizes.

The feature in common between your model and the example in the article is that both models have a lot of holes. Maybe that is significant? I will mention this to the developers.

That is really strange, but it works. Thank you!
