2D Edge to Edge Contact

Hello

I want to use a 2d surface to surface or edge to edge SEPARATION contact to model a pile embedded in the soil medium (Inventor Nastran ver. 2024). I receive a fatal error (singularity). I do not know what should I do now. I have attached the model and pics. Could you please help me to solve this issue?
Thank you very much

Hi @MohammadZaman

You need to use 3D solids because there is no "edge to edge separation" contact with shells. There is nothing holding the center shell in position, so the solver gives a singularity error (E5000, E5001, or E5004) when the part is free to move.
