Why default axis position are diffrent in part and assembly?

Why default axis position are diffrent in part and assembly?

Can be improved situation that in a part modeller we have default vertical Y and Z Y axis position on home front view as default (with TOP as TOP on a box view) whereas in an assembly editor we have default Z as vertical YX and home view is FRONT as a TOP in PART - Can home position in both cases can be the same !!!

The "Home" view for parts and assemblies does match by default.  Someone has redefined the Home view in your assembly template.

By default, the Home view for both parts and assemblies looks like what your screenshots show for parts.

Hi,

Thank you for your replay. It is not possible or we are talking abut two different things. I have been observing the problem since the beginning of the Inventor. I tired to live with this but it wasn't possible. I have 30 computers with a fresh AIP instalation every year and it is not possible redefined anything. I have GB and PL languages and always is the same problem. I do like this:

1. Open fresh AIP nevertheless it is GB PL ANSI or ISO.

2. Open an assembly - the axis are like 01.png

3. Pressing F6 - home view is changing like 02.png (and it is wrong - I need in assembly after F6 the same like in a part 03.png and 04.png)

4. I open a part axis are liek 03.png - it is ok

5. I press F6 home view is ISOMETRIC 04.pn and it is OK but assembly 02.png doesn't much to 04.png.

What to do that an assembly 02/png much to a part 04.png.

Regards,

Leszek

I'm working on the English (US) version, and my templates were created several years ago and migrated to each new release since then.  It is possible that what you are seeing has either changed in that time, or that it is set differently in other language versions.

Whether or not changes to the assembly template caused the problem, they can fix it.

  • Open the Standard.iam template file.
  • Use the View Cube to change the view to the desired orientation.
  • Right click on the View Cube, and pick "Set current view as home".

Yes, thank you. I wish I had figured out on it before. Of course I have to remember to setup it on another computers or copy the template to them. It is weird that, on PL distribution I had always like that. I have 25 computers in my classroom now with a fresh AIP 2021 instillation and have checked a few of them now and on every one the problem exist. I have to correct them all. It is puzzling situation. Nevertheless thank you very much for help.

...I would forget ...I try to change active standard from PL to ANSI, DIN, GB there was the same problem. I had to change all standards if I wanted to have the same default start position in an assembly like in a part. Thank you.

Hi,

Half problem is solved but half exist :(. I set up my view always like I need when AIP starts but still when I am starting a new sketch the orientation of the axis are changing to it is really anoying. Why is that like this. The only one default without problems is +Y UP.

Alway changing to that position in a sketch.

Suppose I have default view +Z UP.

My default axis position

when I am starting a new sketch view position and axis always changing to +Y UP - why  - why default model can't be seutp for all assembles , pasts and sketches. The only moving should be when I make a new sketch and chose a surface of scetching.

Regards,
