Weldment Material at IDW

Weldment Material at IDW

Users are reporting that when the component material is placed as an attribute in the title block of an Inventor IDW file, the weld material is displayed in the title block for welded assemblies.

1. Assemblies do not have a material attribute!

2. In the Weldment IAM file, there are two material properties: one under Physical Properties and one under Weld Physical Properties.

The Material attribute in the title block can only be used to insert the physical properties from the model; however, the weld material is displayed instead.

Users consider this a bug.

Therefore, we request that this bug be fixed.Weldment-Material.png

One way I found to work around it was to create a material named ASSEMBLY.

But also the way it is right now is just dumb, I mean, every single bead should be able to have it's own material assigned.

The weld module really could use some love and Autodesk seems to have completely ignored it for the last couple years
