Please make it possible to change the orientation of your base view after it has been placed. Because now if I place my view in the wrong orientation, I have to delete the view and add it again. This is a major pain and there is no reason for it.
I usually use that option when placing an isometric view. But for changing view orientation, of a standard view(left, right, front, back...) after it is placed, why not just have the option of picking the orientations listed, instead of greying them out? Using the method you're showing still involves going back to the model view, changing the orientation using the view cube and then going back to the drawing. Multiple steps that shouldn't be required and just burn time.
View Orientation is now easier to select and change in Inventor 2016.
Pick a face on the ViewCube during creation or view editing. If you need something other than an orthographic or isometric, right-click the ViewCube and select the Custom option.
Ok, so you can change the view orientation of your view after it is placed, without going back to the model? The options will not be greyed out anymore?
Correct. Notice the Edit View dialog box in the image. The view selection options have been removed from the dialog and the ViewCube now controls the view orientation during placement and editing.
While editing a view you can also add a projected view. Even easier to create a drawing from the model. All great documentation enhancements in Inventor 2016.
It depends upon what suite you have. Product Design Suite is available now. I believe Factory Design Suite should release soon. Log into accounts.autodesk.com to check the download and get your serial number.
