So With the new dialog box something has changed (actually a number of releases ago) and Inventor users surprising haven't torn the Forums apart for it.
The hole command no longer puts in a default value for the Countersink or Counterbore (More accurately it no longer references the Threads.xls file). While you can simply toggle from Clearance to Threaded to get the value its a step that should not be required. ( and it may not be accurate)
The funnier part is that it actually calculates the minimum size you need and proceeds to give you an error message about the size required...
So My request would be one of two things:
Option 1: Use the default from the clearance.xls
That data table still has the default sizes and could easily be used as the default size to start with.
Then you can do you changes from there.
I realize this might not be the correct value from the machinist handbook but its a good place to start.
The Clearance countersink values don't really change much when you move to threaded since you are trying to make it flush or slightly recessed anyway.
Option 2: Use the fancy calculated value as my minimum.
I mean you did the work of calculating it and then put it in an error message so the value is captured, just simply push that value into the countersink or counterbore size for me.
Again then I can adjust the value, but I already start with a working number, so I don't have hover my mouse check the value type it in and see if it works.
If you need more info or clarification let me know.

James Alger
