Undo function (Ctrl + Z)/Funkcja cofnij (Ctrl + Z)

Hello.

I don't know if the topic has already been discussed or not.

Working in INVENTOR, the undo function works up to 30 undos for the entire program.

I think that when working on several windows, an interesting solution would be the ability to undo for each window separately.

Example:

We work in window no. 1 for some time.

Then we create a part in window no. 2.

We assemble the assembly in window no. 3. It turns out that several operations performed on the part in the first window should be undone.

And we have a problem, because currently the program gives us the ability to go back about 30 steps (in total) not for each window separately.

Witam.

You can use the registry to change this

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion29.0\System\Preferences\Transactions

"UndoLevels"

Defaults to 30, can be increased to 99 ( from memory )

I wish there was two different 'UNDO' type functionalities in Inventor.  I have wanted this for over a decade, and I bet most others have wanted this also.

There should be the main one that keeps track of all application wide actions (the current one), and there should be a secondary one that is document specific.  That way if I have multiple documents open at the same time, and am switching between them making changes to all of them, I can undo multiple actions that only effected just one of those documents, without that also undoing actions that effected any other documents, even if I did things to other documents between some of those actions.

I know that we can close the document without saving, then open it again, to achieve a similar outcome. However, that can sometimes be a pretty costly process.  Not only could that take a long time to do, but we would also loose all other changes made to that document which happened before those specific actions, which can cause even more lost time.  Especially when working with really large assemblies and drawings of those assemblies.  In those cases, several types of actions, including closing & opening (but not limited to those), cause a lot of processing to happen, which means lots of sitting there watching a swirling icon, and loss of valuable design time.  If I could just undo a few actions that only effected that one document, that could save tons of time over the course of a large project, reducing time to production, and reducing overall costs of the project.
